Here are edited highlights of my Cabin FM afternoon show from Tuesday 9 July 2024 featuring top tunes, a nostalgia vibe – especially as there were so many end of year school events and reunions taking place – and a chance for listeners to vote for their favourite Simple Minds track to finish off the show to mark the birthday of Jim Kerr. There was another On This Day In History, film news and reviews, a reunion-themed poem from Susan Norvill, what’s happening in Herne Bay, and my special guest was James Newton who lectures on film and is a filmmaker, too. He has written on Mad Max which recently showed at the Kavanagh so we talked about that and also found out what James’s favourite films are, and why.
